Modelling

Hi ladies!

So today I wanted to switch the focus away from my usual reviews to show you a little of what I do in my spare time. I'm a member of Nordstrom's BP Fashion Board and I occasionally model for their in-store fashion shows. Recently, we had a fashion show to advertise all of our new fall trends and looks. The top three trends for fall are as follows:

Sweet and Feminine:
Lace, floral prints, pastels, sheer material. This is more of a spring trend usually, but now you can make it work for fall!

Grunge and Edgy:
Leather, denim, chambray shirts, leggings, booties, denim on denim. This is one of the newest trends and I modelled this look. I chose denim on denim and paired it with denim flats, but I think short leather boots would have been perfect too!

And finally...
Homecoming Couture: sparkle, shine, sequins, lace, whatever you like! Nordstrom has tons of options for homecoming dresses this year! I modelled this trend and I wore a one shouldered white dress with a gold sequin skirt. Everyone loved this dress and I got many compliments on it. Another couple ones that I liked we're the fitted blue one shoulder dress and a teal lace number.

Check out the pics! (I also threw in a selfie that my sis took, but she wa rocking the edgy grunge trend!)

Benefit Cosmetics the POREfessional Review

Hi ladies!
I have been working on this review for over a week now, so I hope everyone enjoys it. This week I tested Benefit Cosmetics' the POREfessional pore reducing primer.
How I tested:
I applied the primer every day for one week, sometimes with foundation and sometimes without.
The verdict:
Lovely smell, slightly tinted, very light moisturizer. This product is slightly tinted, yet when I rubbed it in, I saw no evidence of colouring. The product smells lovely and is light enough to wear with your own foundation. I have combination oily skin and I don't usually moisturize very often. I was pleased to say that my skin felt very happy. This primer does work nicely with a foundation, and I felt that my foundation looked a lot smoother with the use of this product. As for pore reduction: I don't really have large pores, I have more of an issue with pesky blackheads! Overall, I'm not so sure this product made a difference in the size of my pores, but I liked it as a primer, for sure! I will probably purchase this product after I use up the sample.
Note: this product has a light tint and may look funky with darker skin tones.

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel

Hi Ladies!
So I wrote the review up for this product a little while ago, but the automatic posting hasn't been working for me over here...thanks for being patient! Here it is!

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel
I only had a sample size to work with, but nevertheless, I tried. First, the gel did not foam or lather or anything. It was a pinkish-orange liquid that you apply to wet skin. (Btw, the packet had no instructions whatsoever, so I had to look it up online). Anyway, I applied it to my face and rinsed it off. It rinsed very nicely, but my skin did not really feel any cleaner or more refreshed. Overall, I probably would not buy this product again. I don't feel it made much of a difference in my skin, although I may be drawing too quick of a conclusion. With continued use, it may show signs of anti-aging, but at $35 per bottle, I'd probably be more inclined to try their mattifying gel. Decent product, smells decent, nothing really very memorable...but here's some nice pics anyway!

Fresh Sugar Kisses Lip Duo Review

As promised, here is the first review:

I tested the fresh sugar kisses lip duo first because it enabled me to get out of the metaphorical blogging gates quickly.

Non-tinted version:

First take: Smells great; make sure the duos are screwed on tight or else the balm will drop on the carpet (oops!)

smells/tastes very fruity, like lemons! Very slick, I think I probably applied too much product. I tend to slather on lip balm very religiously. This product does not require 'heavy slathering' :D Overall, I was a fan of this product; it gave my lips a nice subtle sheen. BONUS: I love that it has sun protection in it because I hate applying sunscreen to my lips! Yuck!

Tinted version:
First take: WOW THAT IS A BRIGHT COLOR! I'm a little scared now...ooh it's made in France!

I was initially hesitant due to the shade of the balm because I am fair skinned and dark lip product doesn't usually look very good...however, when I applied this product to my lips, I hardly even noticed a tint at all! It also smelled/tasted like lemons and had the same consistency as its sister, the non-tinted version. Overall, I liked the product, but if you are looking for more color, find a different product.

Note: When I blotted the balm on a tissue, the hue was clearly noticeable and was a nice pinkish-red. I just wish that color showed up on my lips!

Pros: quality moisturizing, great smell, quality packaging (metal)

Cons: the balm appears more colored than it applies, balm fell out of the package (twice!) when I opened it
